Reading Inspiration Day (Vachan Prerna Diwas) Special
One Day Online Hands-On Workshop On Koha: Library Automation Using Open SourceAs part of Reading Inspiration Day (Vachan Prerna Diwas), observed annually on 15 October in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the FOSSEE Project, IIT Bombay, is organising a one-day beginner-level hands-on online workshop on “Koha: Library Automation using Open Source.”
The workshop is organised by the FOSSEE (Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education) Project, IIT Bombay, under the aegis of the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), in collaboration with the Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC), St. Francis Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and in partnership with EduPyramids, SINE, IIT Bombay.
The workshop aims to introduce librarians and information professionals to Koha, a free and open-source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS). Participants will gain practical exposure to Koha through hands-on sessions designed for beginners.

- This is a hands-on workshop. Participants are requested to ensure that they have access to a system with Koha installed and configured as per the workshop requirements before attending the workshop. Installation and configuration instructions will be shared with all registered participants in advance.
Workshop will be conducted using pre-recorded spoken tutorial videos. During the Spoken Tutorial sessions, participants are expected to learn Koha using the side by side method. There will be live interactions and Spoken Tutorial sessions during the workshop. All participants will get access to the Spoken Tutorials on Koha.
- Participation certificates, in an electronic format, will be provided to all participants after successful completion of the assigned tasks given as part of the workshop to a satisfactory level.
